The Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School District is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as the Part Time School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the management of the district's financial and business affairs, ensuring the efficient use of resources to support the educational mission of the school.
Anticipated start date: September 1, 2026
Part Time Position - 12 Months
3-4 Days/Week + Board Meetings
Pre-K-6 Public School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be experienced in all areas of business functions
Hold a valid NJ School Business Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility;
Two+ years’ experience as a Business Administrator/Board Secretary or Assistant Business Administrator in a public school system;
Experience with GAAP accounting procedures;
Experience in CDK Systems, a plus;
Hands-on experience with budget development;
Knowledge with OPRA laws and appropriate responses;
Knowledge of School Board Census, mandatory training compliance and financial disclosures;
Solid working knowledge of statutory and code requirements related to school finance and purchasing;
Knowledge and experience in developing and overseeing all aspects of a school district budget, construction and maintenance;
Knowledge and experience with School Treasurer’s Reports and bank reconciliations;
Knowledge and experience with district payroll, personnel, FMLA and state benefits;
Knowledge and experience with labor/union relations;
Medical and criminal history background check review;
Knowledge of local/state/federal reporting requirements, deadlines and applicable laws;
Experience with EWEG, NJ DOE Homeroom and related reports, including ASSA, DRTRS, Extraordinary Aid and Chapter 44;
Experience and development with grants including ESEA, IDEA and local grants;
Knowledge of insurance/risk management and workers’ compensation;
Knowledge and management of food service, building operations, transportation;
Capital projects management experience;
Excellent technology and computer application skills;
Experience with maintaining accurate Board meeting minutes;
Strong organizational, technical, collaborative and communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills interacting with the community;
Strong presentation skills;
Must be willing to work with all stakeholders
SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000

Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School is seeking a part-time kindergarten through sixth-grade Spanish teacher. The position is available one day per week or 2-half days and is a 10-month position, according to the Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School calendar. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and deliver dynamic Spanish lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards. This includes cultivating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student learning and development, inspires a love for the Spanish language, and nurtures an appreciation for diverse cultures.

Part Time Music Teacher
The Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School District is seeking a qualified PK-6 Music Teacher for three days per week in a part time capacity. As a member of our teachering staff, this educator will play a vital role in shaping the musical education and development of our students.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective weekly music lessons to students in grades PK-6
Conduct Instrumental Music and Chorus instruction for elementary-age children
Introduce students to fundamental musical concepts, instruments, singing, movement, and music appreciation.
Collaborate with colleagues and administration to schedule instrumental music lessons
NJ Teaching Certification - Music Specialization required
Salary Range: $34,353.60 - $37,050.60

This is a Part-Time position with the potential to increase to Full-Time. The ideal candidate will have Orton Gillingham Certification and a solid commitment to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs in an in-class resource setting
Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
Provide small group and one-on-one instruction as needed
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to address student needs and progress
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of Handicap Certification. Certification, CEAS, or CE required.
Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities, preferred
Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Provide instructional support to individual students or small groups
Assist teachers with classroom supervision
Supervise students in the cafeteria and on the playground

Anticipated Part-Time Custodial Staff - Summer and School Year
Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our custodial team. This is a part-time position beginning in the summer and continuing through the school year.
Responsibilities
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
Set up and break down spaces for school events and activities
Monitor and report facility maintenance needs to the appropriate staff
Follow established health, safety, and sanitation procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior custodial or facilities maintenance experience preferred
Black seal license preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Ability to work cooperatively with school staff

Daily Substitute Teachers

Substitutes play an important role in maintaining a consistent, productive learning environment when classroom teachers are absent. This is a per diem position, following the Sandyston-Walpack school calendar.
Responsibilities
Implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
Take attendance and follow established school routines and procedures
Communicate any concerns or notable incidents to the appropriate staff member at the end of the day
Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher certificate required
Experience working with school-age children preferred
Reliable, professional, and able to adapt quickly to different classroom settings
