The Gods of Mount Olympus A 6th Grade Social Studies WebQuest
Over three thousand years ago the lives of the ancient Greeks and the fate of the world in which they lived rested in the hands of the many gods who ruled atop Mount Olympus. As we embark on our study of Ancient Greece we need to pay special tribute to these gods who have helped shape the history of this great civilization. |
As a class we will be honoring the many Greek gods & goddesses of Mount Olympus with a special homage to each of them. We will begin our study with a general overview all of the gods & goddesses. From there, you will select one god/goddess to investigate further. You will do your research independently and upon completion of your research you will create a project which pays tribute to that god/goddess. When your project is completed, you will present it to the class on our "Tribute to the Gods of Mount Olympus" Day. |

We have been introduced to the gods of Mount Olympus, the most well known of the Greek gods. We have familiarized ourselves with their names, their relationships, what they ruled over, and some stories about their lives. Now that we have paid homage to the gods & goddesses of Mount Olympus, I hope you now have a better understanding of the importance these great immortals had on Greek history. |
